The dictionary defines epiphany as a comprehension or perception of reality by means of a sudden intuitive realization. Some people arrive at meaningful thoughts and decisions all at once, while others, like me, usually take a lot longer.

I’m an old school kind of a guy. So, when I make commitments and promises, I honor them. I don’t think this particularly makes me special. I was just raised that way. I expect the same trait in others. Unfortunately, I’m often disappointed.

I recently spent some time around Palm Beach, Florida, visiting with old friends and family. One of the people that I met with was the last man in my mother’s life.
