If you are over 40 and can’t imagine going to the mega events for the 20 and 30 year old crowds in West Hollywood and Hollywood, and don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars of inflated costs at one of the high priced hotels or restaurants, then this is definitely the event for you.
Last year, Bob Levine and I (Fred Gansky) put together a terrific program at the venerable Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. By almost anyone’s account it was a terrific hit. We had great food, a beautiful ballroom, a fabulous band, an expansive dance floor, and terrific, enthusiastic people; all for a cost that was less than $100 per person!! We hoped to attract 200-250 people. We ended up with over 400!
This year we are going all out to top our 2013 numbers. We’ve contracted for the hotel’s largest event area, the Empire/Regency Room. With almost 10,000 square feet of space including 2000 square feet of dance floor, we are shooting for a capacity crowd of over 600. Last year we had over 180 singles, 65 single couples and 45 married couples (all over 40 year of age). It made for a great mix.
We’re pulling out all the stops to hit our target this year. We’ll be promoting this event through the print and social media, area Meetup groups, singles organizations, athletic organizations, dance groups, dating coaches, matchmakers, singles columnists, and New Year’s Eve Internet ticket vendors. We expect to ultimately reach out to at least 100,000 people! Naturally, we’d also like your help. So, please tell your friends about the event, whether you can come or not.

We decided to offer you a rare treat this year: Non-Stop Music & Dancing! Yes, that is right. We will have two bands taking turns performing for your listening and dancing pleasure…The Donald Dean Band and The Sidetracs Band. They will start playing at 8:30 PM.
DONALD DEAN started performing at an early age throughout the Midwest achieving regional success. He had written and performed in numerous bands and then in 1985 moved to Los Angeles, CA. He formed the band NIGHTSHIFT in 1989 and performed at The Roxy, Whiskey a Go Go and on local TV and other concert venues. Since his arrival here Donnie has performed with many rock stars from the eighties and early nineties.
THE DONALD DEAN BAND was formed in 1994 and hasn’t stopped since! They were the house band every Saturday night at the historic SPORTSMEN’S LODGE in Studio City, CA from 2003 thru December 2008 when it closed for renovation. Then from January, 2008 until September 2011 the band was a main stay at Club SIXTY 25 in Tarzana, CA. When PETIE’S PLACE opened in Tarzana, CA in September 2011 they continued their successful run and currently perform in venues throughout Southern California. The non-stop music of THE DONALD DEAN BAND covers every variation of rock & roll, R & B, classic rock, oldies from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s right up to and including Top 40 hits of today! As advertised you will “dance your butt off” all night long!
SIDETRACS is a Los Angeles based band that has performed together since 2001 and has performed at Night Clubs, Conventions, Corporate and Private Parties, Weddings, Casinos, and many other events throughout Southern California. SIDETRACS is currently the Friday night house band at Monty’s Steakhouse in Woodland Hills, CA and has been performing there since 2008.The SIDETRACS Band, led by guitarist RIK CANTU, and featuring a dynamic and exciting female singer is one of those "we play everything" bands that truly comes through while really playing everything! Whether they’re playing your favorite rock & roll, R & B, funk, alternative, 70’s, 80’, 90’s, soft rock, cumbias, hard rock, ballads, boleros, soul, classic oldies/Motown, old school, Top 40 dance hits, or disco, SIDETRACS delivers a pleasant punch to the soul that can fill a dance floor and you’re guaranteed to have a great time!

Last year a number of single, unattached women told me that they did not get the opportunity to dance enough. Of course, this is always the possibility for both men and women at any singles event. This year, though, we will be hiring a few dance hosts (both male and female). Their express purpose will be to circulate around the hall and look for men and women who are not dancing. They will politely and respectfully come up to you and ask you if you might like to dance. Each of the dance hosts will be a very experienced dancer. Do not hesitate to avail yourself of this service. It should add to the evening’s enjoyment.
The cost for the evening will be $85 per person if prepaid by midnight on December 25. After that date the price will be $95 per person. Because we need to prepare in advance for the correct number of each entrée, there will be NO TICKETS sold at the door. All reservations with payment should be made by midnight, December 26. We will try and accommodate reservations after this date until midnight, December 30, but we cannot guarantee your choice of entrée.
This will be the best New Year’s Eve party in town, so please, make your reservations early before we sell out.
