I still too often hear people complain to me that they have nothing to do, and no way to meet new people. When I started this organization the keystone of the site was a Calendar of Events that would be socially and age appropriate for our members, 40 years of age and older. Too often I had remembered how my friends and I would call around trying to come up with worthwhile events to take in. We also looked in every local newspaper, and magazine trying to find something that we’d like to do. The first goal with my Calendar four years ago was to try and post at least 50 events per month. I thought that number would give people lots of choices. But, the more I dug, the more worthwhile opportunities I saw. Now, we are topping 200 events per month; so much so that I needed to employ a person specifically to research and post all of the events. With this added cost came a necessary decision to charge an annual fee for this valuable resource. Starting about six months ago, I required a fee of $25 per year to see the Calendar of Events 24/7. That breaks down to less than $.50 per week!....hardly a deal breaker to having access anytime to what is happening socially in southern California. As we move into 2012 I heartily recommend that you sign up for this service and use it on a regular basis. It is quite dynamic. We are always looking for new events and organizations to promote. Oh, and I do guarantee your satisfaction with this service. If, at any time, during the first 30 days after you sign up, you find that this service doesn’t live up to your expectations, just let me know and I’ll give you an immediate refund. Hundreds of people have signed up. Shouldn’t you?
